Love can be many things. A quiet gesture. A bold statement. A rhythm that moves through us and out into the world.
Introducing KÆRLIGHED by Danish–Australian artist Mika Utzon Popov, featuring Ditlev Tamm, captured at Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen.
Mika Utzon Popov works across painting, sculpture, and architecture, creating pieces that explore movement, light, and human connection. His work reflects an awareness of how we inhabit our surroundings, and how emotion can be expressed through form and texture.
With KÆRLIGHED - the Danish word for love - Mika invites us to reflect on connection and equality.
“If you break it down, it essentially becomes ‘precious equality.’ Wouldn’t it be nice if we could all enter love as precious equals?”
The artwork unfolds in Mediterranean-inspired colors. Bold movements of red, yellow, blue, and pink against black. The dark background, as Mika describes, “gives the piece a deeper space for the colors to drive and sing.”
To celebrate the collaboration, Sittingsuits ventured to Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen. A perfect setting of marble, stillness, and natural light.
Photographed by Martin Goltermann, the story features Ditlev Tamm , Danish law professor, historian, and cultural figure known for his distinctive personal style. Every Sittingsuit is unisex and one-size, and the styling with Ditlev underlines a simple truth: KÆRLIGHED is about self-expression, not uniformity.
Mika Utzon Popov is a Danish–Australian artist whose work spans painting, sculpture, and architectural installations. Raised between cultures and born into a family of visionaries - the grandson of architect Jørn Utzon and son of artist Lin Utzon - Mika’s work explores the tension between form and freedom, structure and spontaneity.
His art lives in conversation with space and light. And now, with KÆRLIGHED, also with movement and touch.
